Support to stay
with the work.
Seven artists from dance, theatre, sound and visual arts. Each receives a total stipend of ₹15,000 for the six-week residency, with food and accommodation provided in addition.
Seven artists. Six weeks. A raw, lived celebration of everything human.
We’re inviting you to help make room for a shared creative process—with food, a place to stay, and a stipend for every artist.

A moment from past practice at ReRoot. The 2027 residency ensemble is yet to be selected.
Community contributions + institutional support.
Every contribution helps us move towards the whole.
When conflicts arise, there is a force that exists in the space of tension. An intrinsic drive to confront, resolve, or transmute.
How do relationships, family, work, purpose and the human soul meet in this space? Where does the path of resolution lead—towards something familiar, or something unknown and yet to be witnessed?
Through dance, voice, sound, theatre and visual arts, seven artists will explore these questions in community and care. Drawing from personal experience, stories and imagination, we will enter the messy and uncomfortable spaces and transform them into a shared work of art.
Something we struggle to say might emerge through a moving body, or something we struggle to show might emerge as a powerful moment of silence.
Led by Yohan and his team at ReRoot, this process will grow into a performance that holds the tenderness, contradictions, absurdity and intensity of being human.

Morning movement training and choreographic creation with Yohan, collective research, time in nature and work-in-progress showings. Five visiting facilitators will bring fresh inputs across five weekends.
A public performance is planned for Sunday evening, 14 March 2027 in Bengaluru. Travel is planned for 12 March. The performance venue is still to be booked.

Food and accommodation are charged at a reduced residency rate of ₹1,000 per person per night, compared with our usual ₹1,800. This is a payment to ReRoot for hospitality, not a claim that the amount is direct food expenditure alone.
We cannot sustainably meet the full cost on our own. Your support helps us retain the artist stipends and give the process the time it needs.
The 39 nights cover arrival on 1 February and departure for Bengaluru on 12 March. The ₹45,000 balance must also accommodate costs still being confirmed: Bengaluru food and stay, extra technical or rehearsal requirements, and any applicable taxes or collection charges. It is not a confirmed surplus. Yohan’s own food and stay are excluded.
You can contribute an amount that feels possible for you, help fund an artist’s stipend, or introduce us to someone who supports the arts.
₹1,000 helps cover a day’s meals and a night’s stay for one artist. ₹15,000 supports one artist’s stipend for the six-week residency. Contributions will go into the shared project budget unless a specific use is agreed with you.
We also welcome offers of venue support, materials or other practical help. Sharing the project with your community matters too.
Contribute directly via UPI, or contact Yohan to discuss your support. Selecting an amount below adds it to your UPI-app link and enquiry message; it does not make a payment.

ReRoot Space is an independent artist-led initiative in Maddur, Karnataka. Yohan is ReRoot’s Founder and Director and the contact for this funding appeal. This is not presented as a registered charitable fundraising campaign.
Yohan has committed to personally covering the remaining shortfall so the residency can go ahead. Community and institutional support will be tracked together, and the remaining ask will be updated as funding is secured.
All ticket revenue from the residency performance will be retained by ReRoot to help cover residency and production costs, including any funding shortfall. Artists receive a ₹15,000 stipend each for the six-week residency, plus food and accommodation. Ticket revenue will not be shared with artists.
Contributions do not buy ownership of the work or a share of ticket revenue. Any conditions attached to institutional funding will be respected.
The proposed policy for unrestricted contributions is to cover all residency and performance costs first. Any remaining net fundraising surplus will then be shared equally among the seven participating artists as an additional payment. This policy applies to surplus contributions only; ticket revenue is retained by ReRoot. Restricted grants follow their own agreements.
We plan to share updates from the process and a final activity and expenditure summary. We will keep records of contributions and spending, and will not count potential support as received funding or charge the same expense to two funders.
No 80G tax deduction is being offered. An acknowledgement of your contribution is not a tax-exemption certificate. This initial appeal is for domestic support; please contact us before offering support from a foreign source; please do not transfer it through the displayed UPI ID.
Individual contributions support the residency and are non-refundable if the residency goes ahead. A change of mind does not normally qualify for a refund.
If ReRoot cancels the residency entirely, individual contributions will be refunded in full within 30 days of the cancellation announcement, including where project costs have already been incurred.
If the residency dates change substantially, we will inform contributors and offer the choice to retain their support or request a refund. Accidental duplicate payments will be corrected separately after verification.
For contribution records, duplicate payments or refund enquiries, contact rerootspace@gmail.com or +91 93531 18319, quoting your transaction reference. Restricted institutional grants remain subject to their own agreements.
An invitation to bring our curiosity, our stories, our pain, and our joy together—and make room for a raw, lived, and radical celebration of everything human.
